What are the main ideas in the text. 3.Write 6 sentences with your own worda explaining what a farmer is, what his job is like and what are the important activities he does. Farmers grow crops and raise animals. American farmers run some of the most productive farms in the world. Many sell their extra produce to other countries. Farmers decide when to plant, >fertilize, harvest, and sell crops. Farmers watch the prices for the crops they produce and try to sell at the best time. They choose what types of machinery, seeds, and animals to buy. Farmers must be aware of new farming technology and learn about new farming methods. Farms are complex businesses. Farmers use computers to keep records. Many farmers also supervise other workers. During busy seasons, a large farm can have more than 100 workers. Farmers use machines to plant and harvest crops. Some also use machines to >feed or milk animals. Crop farmers grow grains, fiber, fruits, and vegetables. They till soil, fertilize, plant, spray, and harvest. Then, they make sure the crops are properly packaged and stored. Horticulture farmers grow flowers, shrubs, and grass called sod. They also grow fruits and vegetables in greenhouses. A farmer's work can be very hard. Hours are long, often sunrise to sunset. During planting and harvesting seasons, crop farmers rarely have days off. The rest of the year, they sell their crops, fix machinery, and plan for the next year. Many farmers like their jobs. They like working outdoors and making a living off the land. Also, most farmers work for themselves and like the independence of being their own boss. But farm work can be dangerous. Farm machinery can cause serious injury, so farmers must be careful. Many people learn farming from growing up on a family farm. Young people also learn in farming clubs like Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H. But modern farmers make complex scientific and business decisions, so even people who grew up on farms often need more education. Students who want to be farmers should take classes in math, biology, and other life sciences. More farmers are getting college degrees. Some farms offer apprentice programs. Farmers must know enough about crops, growing conditions, and plant diseases to make good decisions. A basic knowledge of veterinary science and animal care is important for livestock and dairy farmers. Farmers also need to be good at using tools and fixing things.

The baby monkey can’t find his Mum This is our group show (B M- Baby Monkey, P- Parrot, M-mother) BM: I can´t find mother...She isn´t at home, she isn´t in the river and she isn´t in the jungle. P: I can help you because I saw her in a car. M: Is the car here? P: I want to see where the hunter and your Mom are. BM: You could come with me to see if I can find them. P: Okay but if you do, ask for help to the other animals. (The monkey and the parrot went to see if they found the monkey’s mother.) P: I think it is not in here BM: Watch! A zoo! P: I doubt that here... BM: Isn´t that my Mom? P: Yeah and that´s the hunter! Come on. (The monkey and the parrot followed the hunter) M: There is my mother in front of the tigers’ cage ! P: Come on! BM: Mother! M: My son! I miss you! P: Now you must remove it from there M: We´re going to try. (The baby monkey, the mother and the parrot tried to open the cage. Seconds later they can open it) M: Well we´ll see the way back to the jungle P: It is more or less that way . (A while later they came to the jungle.) M: Thanks for helping me parrot, me and my baby! P: I’m always going to help everyone. BM: Mom can he stay here! He is a homeless (whispering in her ear) M: Okay (answers to the ear) P: Well I will continue my way… M: WAIT! Do you want to stay here? P: Okay, but do not you mind? M: You are not going to bother us. P: Thank you M: You are welcome.
